After working in sport full time roles for 20 years up until 2021, I have branched out and work for some great companies, Spring Media, Australian Sports Technologies Network, Sports Marketing Australia and some independent consulting under my GLO Sports company and dabbled in wrestling with Oceania Pro Wrestling and two big USA brands.
In summary my working week currently involves a range of work across the below three key areas:
1. I am leading Spring Media - major international rights, production, OTT company in building their Oceania base as my major role.
2. Supporting the ASTN as Financial Director, after being GM for two years.
3. At GLO Sports as Managing Director I am engaging with select sporting organizations to provide CEO support to their business operations or place their events in Australia, currently including:
- International wrestling organizations and events such as IMPACT Downunder and Starrcast and creating Oceania Pro Wrestling
4. Elected President of Oceania Hockey Federation in April 2023, through until April 2027.
5. I also am a board member of Sports Environment Alliance in the role of Treasurer, utilizing my skills as a Chartered Accountant.
I have previously served as:
* CEO ASTN
* CEO Baseball Australia and the Australian Baseball League,
* CEO Hockey Australia
* COO at North Melbourne Football Club (including nine months as Interim CEO)
* Finance roles at Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club, St Kilda Football Club, Carlton Football Club.
My career success has resolved around being a safe pair of hands with a strong creative and strategic mind to seek to grow the organizations I have worked with. All four of my Chairman over my last three roles would vouch for me.
My unique attribute is I have a diversity of experience across sports and functions inside sport that very few have, and I have an ability to adapt to any circumstance - whether a challenge or an opportunity. There are too many one trick ponies out there, so I am to be different with versatility a key strength.
Engaging international outcomes into this region - Oceania, is something I have greatly enjoyed, particularly in Asia through engagement with countries such as Japan, Korea, India, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. Growth to the Pacific Islands is something I believe strongly Australian sport and sporting administrators have a duty to foster. And I love my engagement in the USA - they are the big brother of sport.
Sport is a service industry, so I aim to be of great service to my employers, staff, and stakeholders.
