HISTORY
The Association was originally called The North Murray Badminton Association Inc, and was formed in the late 1960’s. The name was changed to The South Suburban Badminton Association Inc, because of ‘Country Week’, an annual competition held at The BAWA Hall in Wembley. As North Murray was classified as a Country Town in those days, eventually a decision was made that Armadale was part of Perth’s Metro area and could no longer be classed as a country town so the name was changed in 1984.
