My name is Vaughn Steward and I'd like to take this opportunity to give a brief summary about my career story and how I ended up in the industry of Sport & Exercise Science.

Football/Soccer has been my passion for over 10 years and ultimately a big part of why I decided to pursue a career in the sport science sector.

While in Year 12 VCE like many students, I had come to this point without much idea as to what I wanted to pursue after high school.

For a long time I always thought that playing football professionally was the ideal achievable career.

I had slowly come to realize that while being a professional athlete in the sport for me was a low-chance at that stage , I could still develop a professional career within the game I loved so much. This is where my pursuit of a sport science career began.

I decided to pick Physical Education as one of my year 12 subjects and throughout the year I did extremely well. I even managed to win the academic award for the subject.

The following year I undertook a Diploma of Sports Development with FC11, a relatively new company with aspirations of becoming the nations leading sports education provider.

Here I not only completed my diploma, I also made strong industry networks, volunteered for various organizations and gained a few extra qualifications as well such as first-aid, sports trainer, ASCA lvl 1 & skill acquisition certificates in Football & Futsal.

Now in my 3rd year, after experiencing multiple aspects of the sport science industry I have begun to veer toward Strength & Conditioning as my career preference and where I would like to be within the next 5 years.
